Dr. Ryan Michaud began his medical career in the nursing field, serving as an RN for three years before deciding he wanted to take his education further and expand his horizons. A medical diploma from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2006, followed by an Anesthesia Residency at the University of New Mexico, set him on his current path.
He also completed an Interventional fellowship at the University of Utah, and he has been Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at the UT Dell Medical School since 2017. Board-certified in Anesthesia and Pain Management, he brings the level of compassion he developed in nursing to the level of expertise he’s achieved as a doctor. His specialty is spinal cord stimulation, and he is known within the field as an esteemed lecturer on pain pumps.
Dr. Michaud is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, American Pain Society, International Society of Interventional Pain, American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Texas Pain Society and the Texas Medical Association. As he has been throughout his career, he remains committed to using his training and experience to support his patients' needs and improve their quality of life.
